It is made from solid silver with a gilt or gold plated interior in a rectangular shape with a three section piano hinge on the back of the lid and it has a scrolled thumb and finger catch on the front edge.The outer body has been bright cut decorated and in the centreb of the lid there is a rectangular cartouche.The interior is fitted with its original solid silver gilt pierced and engrave decorated grille that has a three section hinge and the side of the vinaigrette has a ring so that incan be hung as a
pendant or fob on a pocket watch chain.
